Full-time Grain Elevator – Temporary Seasonal Help

EMPLOYEES WILL WORK JULY AND AUGUST, MINUMUM 6 DAYS A WEEK, 8 - 10 HOURS A DAY, AND PAID $11.00/HOUR.


Job Title: Grain Elevator – Temporary Seasonal Help
Job Objective: Grain Quality Control
Supervision Received (reports to): Arny Berry
Supervision Exercised (positions supervised): Arny Berry

Typical Physical and Psychological Demands of Job
•Requires strong communication, problem-solving skills
•Requires prolonged standing, walking, some bending, stooping and stretching
•Requires normal range of hearing and visual acuity
•Requires lifting up to 50 lbs and carrying up to 50 lbs up to 50 feet. Lifting up to 100 lbs and carrying up to 25 feet
•Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English
•Ability to prioritize, multi-task and problem solve
•Requires a hard working self starter
•Requires a minimum 9 hours a day, minimum 5 days a week
(Hours per day and days per week can be extended at certain times of the year)
(Occasional work on a Sunday may be needed on a rotation schedule. Usually 4 to 6 hours)

•Fast-paced environment
•Moderate to high noise levels
•Exposure to sun, heat, cold, dust, and mold
•Possible exposure to pesticides and household chemicals
•Working in areas of minimum to extreme heights
•Working in confined spaces
•Working in a dusty environment (wearing a dust mask)

Job Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations

Is instrumental in developing and maintaining workplace harmony and teamwork
•Coaching personnel and others, including self, to be friendly and behave courteously, assertively, and professionally while continuously maintaining a positive attitude about the job, the patrons, co-workers and the company.
•Coordinate truck traffic to proper locations, load and unload grain trucks, sample products, and communicate findings.
•Keeping current on company issues and policies, participating in planned social and business events, relaying pertinent industry and competitive company information to management, supports the owners and management team, actively contributes to the company’s development, etc.
•Participating in safety programs; following all safety, company, and corporate rules and regulations. (Turn in all information expected of you, such as safety forms, bin measurements, monitoring forms, ETC…)
•Working through lunch or interrupted lunches is very common.
•Longer hours are common at the spur of the moment.
•Employees are expected to report to work on time, in position and ready for work.
•Employees are to report to the office supervisor any concerns or suggestions to make their position more efficient.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Skill & Abilities (an acceptable combination of the following)
1. Minimum High School diploma
2. Industry experience as a grain warehouse person
3. Operate and maintain a variety of machinery
4. Have a current drivers license
5. Have your own transportation to and from work

3. Timely processing of patron’s requests
4. Solve patrons problems
5. Process incoming and outgoing paper work.
6. Inventorying products
7. Process grain samples
8. Communicate with company phone in a responsible manner

10. Working in a NO Cell Phone environment.

12. Perform housekeeping duties
